Beats Wireless headphones are undeniably the branded ones you can definitely pick out of the crowd. But first, let’s focus on Beats Studio3 wireless. When it comes to the positive side of Beats Studio3 wireless headphones.

Beats by Dre wireless headphones really do have a wide variety of colors but something that I do actually like is the soft matte plastic that these are made out of and the way they feel in the hand. They’re not as fingerprint prone as you might expect.

The plush earcups are also really comfortable and I was able to wear these for quite some time without my ears hurting. It does get a little hot after a while but that’s to be expected.

Another nice aspect of these headphones is how compact they get when you fold them, crucial for travel. I just wish that the earcups would rotate 90 degrees out so that when you’re wearing them around your neck, they don’t feel awkward and weird.

The adjustable band and hinges are the only visible part of the headphones made of metal, but I can’t speak to their longevity but so far, no problems.

Design And Functionality

Beats Wireless Headphones Review - Beats Solo3

Beats Studio3 wireless is by far one of the best-looking wireless headphones out there. When it comes to its design, the synthetic surface of the earcups is extremely soft and it’s given me a lot of comfort when using it for a long time.

The upper part of the headphone is made with clean plastic surface and the headband has a nice cushion underneath designed with a rubber like material. In terms of Beats headphones price, the Studio3 currently have the same price as many of its competitors such as the Sony WH1000XM2 and the Bose QuietComfort 25.

The Beats look very pristine and they look better while being worn than its competitors. The reason is because the earcups don’t stick out far from your ear which was a great design with the headphones

Moving to the buttons Beats studio3 wireless have the power button with five light battery indicators on the right earcup. While, on the left earcup, you’ll find the play, pause, volume down, volume up, and skip button. Also, if you press the beats logo two times, it will take you to the next song and but once you press it three times, it will go back to the previous song.

One very nice feature about the Beats studio3 wireless is that they are very useful when going about. They can fold into a pretty compact size and they come with a hard-shell case that is really nice when traveling.

Beats studio3 wireless headphones have active noise-cancelling and anytime you want, you can turn off the ANC or on using your device. Unfortunately, the noise cancelling feature sometimes doesn’t work quite as well as oppose Bose QuietComfort 25’s because you can still expect to hear some louder noises from your surroundings. But that isn’t a big deal when you take a look at the rest of the features that Beats studio3 have to offer.

Sound Quality

Beats Studio3 Beats Wireless Headphones

Now let’s talk about the sound quality of Beats Studio3 wireless headphones. This is the exciting part we’ve all been waiting for. It is very important to clearly point out the performance of Beats studio3 wireless headphones in terms of its sound quality.

This is the most important feature to discuss when we talk about wireless headphones, especially when the headphones are to be used for a long period of time.

These headphones are definitely for bass lovers the low frequencies hit slightly hard which gives a basic effect. Now the clarity in the vocals can be lacking due to the strong bass. But I believe the average consumer won’t to have a problem with the vocals unless a dislike the face of this headphone.

But for people who are pickier about the sound quality, they might notice that the mids can be inaccurate at times and not quite as crisp or forward as oppose to Bose QuietComfort 25 or the Sony WH1000XM2. With the higher frequencies there is some roll-off which helps the sound quality from going overboard.

These headphones do well here and they don’t sound scratchy after listening to them for over an hour. But I do wish that these headphones had more crispness with the frequencies.

Battery Life

Beats By Dre Studio3 Beats Wireless Headphones

The battery life of Beats studio3 wireless headphones are surprisingly good. It will last for about 22 hours with active noise cancellation feature turned on. And its battery life will double at around 40 hours if you use these headphones with active noise cancelling turned off. The long battery life feature of beats studio3 is very useful while you are on a long plane flight or during a long travel.

Final Thoughts On Beats Studio3 Wireless

In the end I believe that Beats studio3 wireless headphone is surely focused on bass and if you are a person who loves high quality bass feature, then Beats studio3 wireless is best for you.

But if you are the one who doesn’t care about the bass feature and are the one looking for crispness and clarity features of a headphone, my recommendation is for you to check out the Bose QuietComfort 25 in the Sony WH1000XM2.

I’m pretty sure you are also familiar with Beats Solo3 wireless headphones which are still almost identical to its previous model and it is unlike to change sooner. Apple the company behind this even say that “Beats Solo3 Wireless stays true to its predecessor”. For me, this wireless headphone is another best one we can have from the lineup of the famous Beats headphones.

Design and Build Quality

Beats Wireless Headphones Beats Solo3 Wireless

If you take a close look at Beats Solo3 and Beats Solo2 headphones, you will see for yourself that they look almost exactly the same, made of plastic. But anyway, let’s focus now on Beats Solo3 wireless.

The same layout was here and Beats Solo3 headphones come in with many color options we can choose from. Beats by Dre has really been good in terms of color variants.

As much as Apple has been pushing for lightning connections surprisingly they kept with a microUSB port which I’m perfectly fine with. The 3.5-millimeter analog connection is not officially dead just yet so we have that with Beats Solo3 wireless.

With these headphones you have the same volume up and down tapping right in the middle, right on the logo gives you pause and play and if you do hold it down it’ll give you siri, Google Voice, or S-Voice for those on Samsung.

Now the same build quality returns with either the very fingerprint perm glossy finishes or a special edition silver and white with chrome accents which are looking amazing in my opinion.

The arms are still reinforced by metal and despite the entire outside of the headphones being made of plastic, they still feel well made and pretty decent in the hands when handling.

Overall Sound Quality

Beats Solo3 Beats By Dre Wireless Headphones

And lastly, sound leaking wise, when you are wearing Beats solo3 maybe on the train or in a café or in a quiet environment, essentially the solo3 performed ok. There is some sound leaking. You do hear the vocal works pretty well especially again in those quiet areas.

When it comes to audio test, first off, the Beats Solo2 wireless sounds identical to Beats Solo3 Wireless. So, with this being said, if you’re going to shell out another bucks for Beats headphones and already have Beats Solo2, you are really just paying for an insanely good battery life and the signal performance.

Of course, that’s up to you if that’s worth it. So, with this being said, if you are looking for bassy headphones Beats By Dre once again provides that. If you are fond of bass, it provides that nice rumble for hip-hop and select pop music more bass than Sennheiser Urbanite, V-MODA Wireless Headphone, Sennheiser Wireless Momentum and some Bose wireless headphones just to name a few here.

But if you’re that type that enjoys a more of a balanced sound signature, something that doesn’t sound bass boosted, you’ll notice the upper bass frequencies in Beat solo3 and solo2, of course, somewhat get into the mid-range.

The upper bass frequencies overshadow soundly vocals and some songs. Now regarding the vocals and the mid-range frequencies by themselves, they still do very well.

They’re clear, but again once in a while you get bass levels coming over on those select songs. Now the higher frequencies perform well without getting anywhere close to being too sharp or ear tinging, which is a lot of discomfort for me.

A little bit more sharpness would have been nice though to really hear the details on the top end. But again, these are truly bass focused headphones. Now if you’re listening to a quality bitrate audio file, the sound of this is impressive with sounds being distinguished from left and right to in front and behind you.

And lastly, regarding passive noise isolation or blocking out outside unwanted noises, when you’re wearing these they did really well. It’s not close to active noise cancelling, of course, but good performer nonetheless.

Battery Life

Beats solo3 wireless has this new w1 chip inside. It gives me some better battery management. The old Beats Solo2 headphone claims to get up to 12 hours of use. This time up to 40 hours as claimed.

Now based on the test, if you leave Beats Solo3 on at about 50 to 60% volume and have it played day and night, it will last for 52 hours of straight use.  This battery life is insanely good and at 50 to 60 percent environment it was plenty loud for casual listening.

Now there is an additional feature and Apple calls it fast fill. This is how it works. When your battery is low, you can charge it for just five minutes and you get three hours of playback instantly. Now, while testing this feature, it does work and it’s amazing when you’re in a crunch.

Comfortability

As for comfort right out of the box they do squeeze the head somewhat medium to moderate levels of firmness but it’s not that firm enough to make you feel uncomfortable. Actually, there’s no pressure you can feel on your head while this wireless headphone is put on even when wearing this for several hours straight.

Beats Solo3 Wireless Connectivity

Now because of the w1 chip we’re anticipating better wireless range. Apple features what they call a class one connection, offering connections up to 300 linear feet. With class 2, like most other headphones on the market including Beat solo2, the range on those are always around 30 linear feet.

Final Thoughts On Beats Solo3 Wireless

So overall, with all biases put aside, if you are looking for bass, Beats headphones are honestly one of the best choices. For sure the bass may be overwhelming for some, even giving some listening fatigue for others. Yet in every other aspect, the long better life is phenomenal, the range is good, passive noise isolation is done well in the soundstage is great.

The Beats solo3 wireless look really good with amazing finishes but new headphones are really putting out newer and more fresh designs. I’m shocked Apple didn’t redesign these or at least just even updated these headphones at all. But, of course, if it’s not broken why fix it right.

So now, it’s time for you to also look at some Pros and Cons of these Solo3 Beats wireless headphones that I have listed below.
